In his landscape painting, David Welsh concentrates on the effect of light on fields, buildings, water,
and above all, on the sky: sunlit clouds, blazing blue heat in an Italian landscape,
or menacing storms of autumn and cold English winters.
A large section includes seascapes and views of beaches and the sea.
The style is contemporary impressionist. He paints only in oil.
His portraits of people and animals are powerful, lifelike and full of character.
